President's Message
As I look back over the past 7 months, I think about how much our lives as emergency physicians have changed. Who would have thought we would be fighting a virus, public misinformation, conspiracy theories, and pay reduction. We have smoothly transitioned into practicing in an environment where PPE is mandatory but in short supply. An environment where initially bringing your own PPE could result in disciplinary action for some. TCEP has worked tirelessly to address all of these issues and lobbied heavily ...

“No one is sure.”

This is the refrain that I often hear from policymakers when I ask, “What is the legislative session going to look like during the pandemic?” Over the past several months, many have wondered how legislators, staffers, advocates and members of the general public can ...

TCEP members involved
in every facet
of healthcare leadership
This issue, we have included our annual Call for Volunteers, asking members to help with planning and carrying out the mission work of TCEP. As we reviewed the various opportunities, we noticed that we did not have a comprehensive list of ALL the TCEP members and their volunteer roles – both in the state, and nationally.
So, we have created a document which currently contains 227 positions held by TCEP members – and that does not include the members serving on TCEP committees ( yet). 227! What a difference you are making in healthcare! This list will be updated and kept on the website.
While this is an amazing list of organizations and members, I am certain that we have missed a few, so please notify us so that we can update this information. We hope that this document will assist us each year as positions come open. TCEP is well represented, but we need more members to get involved in some way. With the session coming up, we are discussing ways to engage more of you and we’ll share that information as we learn more about how the legislative session will unfold.
Thank you to everyone who is making a difference for Emergency Medicine.
